  • AI startup Aibee raises USD 60 million in funding and recruits former head of Alibaba’s DAMO Academy Decision Intelligence Lab

    Nov.28(China Knowledge)--Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) startup Aibee has not only successfully raised USD 60 million in its latest funding round but has also managed to recruit the former head of Alibaba’s DAMO Academy Decision Intelligence Lab.


    Aibee is currently focusing on developing a range of AI technologies such as computer vision, speech recognition, natural language understanding,big data analytics and robotics.The company was founded by a former head of research at search engine giant Baidu and has managed to raise USD 100 million in one year since its founding.


    Its latest funding was led by Red Star Macalline Group and Sequoia Capital China, other investors included Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group (LCIG), C Ventures,K2VC and AME Cloud Ventures.


    Apart from its latest funding, the company also announced that Shenghuo ZHU officially joined Aibee.Shenghuo ZHU was the former head of Alibaba’s DAMO Academy Decision Intelligence Lab and now is the co-founder of Aibee in charge of machine learning.


    Aibee's technologies are targeted at helping retailers to improve operating efficiency and reduce costs.
